The MK Breakers started off their preseason campaign with a convincing 83-57 win over NBL Division 1 opponent London Elite.
Newcomer Andre Arissol led the Breakers in scoring with 17 points, whilst Blayne Freckleton (14), Chris Tawiah (13) and Dante Langley (11) joined him in double figures.
The first quarter was a cagey affair with both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively, as to be expected at this stage of the season. With the score knotted at 12-12, five straight points from Tawiah and a buzzer-beating jump-shot from Langley to end the quarter put some daylight between the teams, the Breakers leading 19-14 after 10 minutes.
Not much separated the teams in the second quarter, the Breakers winning the period 16-13 to take 35-27 lead in to half-time with the game very much in the balance.
A blistering start to the second half from the Breakers saw the lead balloon to 20+ where it would stay for the remainder of the game. The home side hit 6 3-pointers in the quarter with Arissol connecting on 4 himself, whilst fellow newcomer Leon Henry & Freckleton hit one apiece.
