With pre-season now concluded, the Breakers look forward to their first official game of the season at home this Sunday against NBL Division 1 opponents the Nottingham Hoods in the KitKing trophy competition. Tickets available here.

The Breakers pre-season was a short but successful one, defeating a pair of NBL Division 1 sides. After defeating newly promoted London Elite 83-57 in front of a packed house at Bletchley Leisure Centre last Sunday, the team played a much more closely contested encounter behind closed doors on Tuesday, defeating Essex Rebels 82-81.

The KitKing Trophy is a competition involving all 13 NBL Division 1 sides, plus NBL Division 2 teams, the MK Breakers, Brighton Bears and Manchester Magic. The Breakers have been placed in a group with Nottingham Hoods, City of Birmingham Rockets and Loughborough Riders.

The Breakers will face each of the 3 teams once in the next 2 weeks, needing to finish top 2 in the group to advance to the quarterfinals, set to take place on Sunday 1st October.

Tickets: MK Breakers vs Nottingham Hoods Sunday 17th September

The Hoods will prove a difficult test for the Breakers this Sunday. Finishing 10th in NBL1 last year, the Hoods have returned their top player from last season Josh Guddemi, who average 22.6 points (4th in the league) and 8.9 rebounds a game. They have also made several big additions over the summer, headlined by American duo, 6’5” sharp-shooter Landon Taliaferro and 6’11 Centre Greg Skoric.

Head Coach Billy Beddow-Patel is looking forward to the team’s first official game this season, “With pre-season officially over we’re excited to start with the KitKing trophy. These are the games that we want to be playing in. It’s going to be a battle, and everyone here is excited and ready for that!”

Tickets are now on sale from £10.00 for Adults and £6 for Under-16s – click HERE to purchase.

We look forward to seeing you this weekend.
