Milton Keynes Breakers are pleased to announce the signing of versatile American forward Darius Duffy.

The Murray, Kentucky native, who arrives as part of our 2026/27 British Championship Basketball campaign after graduating from Purdue Fort Wayne, will provide Head Coach Nigel Lloyd with some exciting lineup options.

An imposing presence at 6’9” and 230 points, he not only has the strength and size to cause problems on offence, but Duffy has also proven to be a tireless rebounder and shot blocker at the other end of the floor.

“We’re really pleased to bring Darius to MK Breakers,” said Coach Lloyd after the deal was completed. “He’s a player who brings a real physical presence to our frontcourt and gives us another dimension on both ends of the floor.

“What really attracted us to him is his toughness, efficiency and ability to impact the game without needing the ball in his hands all the time. He’s an excellent finisher around the basket, a strong rebounder and someone who can protect the rim. His ability to block shots and defend physically will be really important for us, particularly against the bigger and more athletic teams in the league.

“We believe there is another level to come from Darius. He’s hungry, he’s competitive and he fits the type of player we want to bring into the Breakers environment. We’re excited to work with him and I’m sure our supporters will enjoy watching him compete in a Breakers uniform.”

That is a view shared by Duffy himself. “I’m really excited to be joining Breakers and starting this next chapter of my career in Milton Keynes,” he said. “From my conversations with the club, it is clear to me that there is a real ambition to build something special here. I wanted to be part of that and help the club continue to grow both on and off the court.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my physicality, energy and competitiveness to the team. I pride myself on doing the things that help a team win — defending, rebounding, protecting the rim and being someone my teammates can rely on every night.

“I’ve already heard how passionate the supporters are in Milton Keynes, and I can’t wait to experience that atmosphere, meet the fans and represent the Breakers in front of them.

I’m ready to get to work and help us have a successful season. Let’s go Breakers!”

Everyone at the club wishes Darius every success in the 2026/27 season.

You can see him and the rest of the Breakers back in action this week when they take on USA Select in an exciting friendly at Bletchley Leisure Centre, with tickets available here.
