Milton Keynes Breakers are excited to announce the signing of highly regarded Australian guard George Pearl.
Possessing a deadly combination of driving ability, perimeter shooting and playmaking, the talented 6’ 6” star is the latest addition to Coach Nigel Lloyd’s roster.
Pearl progressed through the ranks at Warwick Senators, breaking into their Men’s team and showcasing his quality in Australia’s NBL Division 1.
Averaging 14.73 points, 6.36 rebounds, and 3.73 assists per game, he connected with 33% of his three-point attempts. Those performances made him a much-wanted player this summer, and bringing him to Bletchley is undoubtedly a coup for our club.
“George Pearl is a player we’ve been very impressed with, and we believe he can have a significant impact for us this season,” said Nigel Lloyd. “An extremely versatile player who can influence the game in a number of different ways, he can score the basketball, create for his teammates, rebound, defend and play multiple positions, which gives us a lot of flexibility as a team.
“His experience and consistency were a big attraction for us, and we feel he is ready for the next challenge in his career.
“What I really like about George is that he’s a smart basketball player who understands how to impact winning, and that versatility will be extremely valuable to us. We’re building a team with a lot of ambition at MK Breakers, and adding players of George’s quality and experience is another important step in that process.”
Meanwhile, as the man himself prepares to take that next step, there was no hiding how much he is looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m super excited to be joining MK Breakers,” said Paarl. “I’m looking forward to getting over to the UK, meeting the team and competing at a high level straight away. I’ll always be eager to work hard, and want compete for a championship this season.”
