Box Score: Bristol Hurricanes 90-83 MK Breakers
The MK Breakers suffered a second successive defeat, going down 90-83 to Bristol Hurricanes on Saturday evening.
A new-look Hurricanes side, led by BBL veteran Elvisi Dusha with 25 points and 7 assists proved too much for the travelling Breakers, despite 5 players reaching double figures.
Nate Robinson got off to a hot start with 7 of the Breakers first 9 points, before Dusha responded with a 3-pointer to put the hosts 10-9 ahead. Adrian Scarborough began to make his presence felt on the interior, but stellar play from Dusha and ex-Euroleague big-man Vilmantas Dilys kept the game close. A heads-up play from Captain Blayne Freckleton found Troy McIndoe under the basket for 2 points as the first quarter buzzer expired, Breakers with their noses in front 23-26
With Robinson sidelined early in the second quarter due to foul trouble, Scarborough and Chris Tawiah combined well on the inside to pick up the scoring slack, dominating the paint for the Breakers. Meanwhile Dilys, Dusha and another ex-BBL player Denzel Ubiaro shone for the Hurricanes. Another timely play from Blayne Freckleton at the end of the second quarter led to a steal and lay-up to keep the visiting Breakers ahead 43-47 going into half time.
