Milton Keynes Breakers are pleased to announce that Mike New Jr will be representing the club once again in the 2026/27 campaign.
Having been a Breaker since 2022, he proved his value during the run-in last season, delivering his best performances in crucial games. That included a 24-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist display in our playoff win over Nottingham Hoods to secure a place in the semifinals.
A player with a strong connection to the area after moving to Milton Keynes at the age of 12 when his father Mike New Sr. signed for MK Lions, his return will be a huge boost for the club both on and off the court.
“Mike is a very talented basketball player who has continued to develop and improve his game,” said Head Coach Nigel Lloyd. “He gives us versatility, athleticism and energy on both ends of the floor.
“Offensively, he can make plays and score in a number of different ways, while defensively he gives us the ability to put pressure on the ball and guard multiple positions. Mike also has a really good understanding of the game. He plays with intensity, competes every possession and has the ability to make an impact without necessarily having the ball in his hands.
“I’m really pleased to have Mike with us and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the Breakers this season.”
Everyone at the club wishes Mike every success in the 2026/27 season.
You can see him and the rest of the team take on Loughborough Riders in our first official home game on September 13. Tickets for that clash at Bletchley Leisure Centre are available here.
