The MK Breakers have acquired the services of Andre Arissol for the 2023/24 season, beating out BBL and top NBL1 clubs for the signature of the 26-year-old point-guard.

Northampton-born Arissol joins the Breakers from NBL1 club Worthing Thunder who he played for last season following two successful years with the Solent Kestrels. In his three seasons in NBL1, Arissol has twice been named NBL1 Defensive Player of the Year, three times All-British Team and once in the NBL1 Team of the Year.

The 6’2” point-guard will bolster an already strong backcourt for the Breakers, and fans can expect his infectious energy to have a big impact on the team and the club, “I’m so excited to join the Breakers who were such a force last season! I think I can add a lot of energy to the club and being close to my family whilst playing with high level players is a dream!”

Prior to his time in NBL1, Arissol had a decorated junior career, representing Great Britain at U18 & U20 level and has since represented England Senior Men in 3×3 competition. He also attended Chaminade University in Hawaii on a basketball scholarship.

Arissol has strong connections to the Breakers, having been coached by General Manager Josh Merrington as a teenager at academy level and with the Great Britain U20 team:

“I’m home! Signing with the Breakers is a new step in the right direction for me! I have family here and coaches who helped me when I was younger get to America, play for Great Britain, and become a professional! It’s a full circle moment for me. Drestarr is home and Breakers fans I can’t wait to meet you all”

Head Coach Billy Beddow added, “It’s really exciting to bring someone of Andre’s character and ability into the roster next season. Being local, Andre already knows a lot of the team and has played at a high level internationally and domestically, so he has gelled with the squad quickly. He will also be great for the club as a whole, helping and inspiring our junior players as well!”

Arissol is the first new addition for the 2023/24 season, joining returners Dante Langley, Mike New Jr and Blayne Freckleton. There will be more signings in the coming weeks with some familiar faces as well as some exciting new additions.
