The MK Breakers are delighted to announce the re-signing of co-captain Blayne Freckleton for the 2023/24 season.

Freckleton, who was named NBL Division 3 Playoff Final MVP after scoring a massive 39 points in the victory over UEL London Lions, will once again bring his leadership and outside shooting to the Breakers backcourt next season.

The MK native who returned home to join the Breakers last season has enjoyed a decorated career in the NBL, and his experience and leadership was a huge factor in the Breakers’ success in their maiden season, a season that saw the team go 27-1 in all competitions, earning promotion to NBL Division 2 for the 2023/24 season.

Speaking on his return, Freckleton identified the desire to build on the success of last season, “I’m excited to return for another season. The first year was a huge success and we are looking to pick up where we left off. I’m looking forward to reuniting with all the fans and playing in a better league next season. The goal remains the same, win.”

Pouring in 19 pointer per game in 2022/23, and averaging close to 4 3-point makes a game, Blayne was an ever-reliable component to Coach Beddow’s backcourt, and the play caller is excited to see him return “Blayne brings a level of leadership, basketball IQ and shooting to the team that was invaluable to our success. We’re excited to see him return for another season and help to move the club forwards.”

There will be more signings in the coming weeks with some familiar faces as well as some exciting new additions.
