MK Breakers are delighted to announce the signing of experienced guard Blayne Freckleton for the senior men’s team!

Blayne, who hails from Milton Keynes, attended Stantonbury Campus where he was introduced to basketball by British Basketball legend Nigel Lloyd. Blayne came through the MK Lions (now London Lions) Junior program before joining their professional team whilst earning his degree at the University of East London. He then went on to play at Team Northumbria in Newcastle, helping the team to the NBL Division 1 league title and NBL National Cup.

Freckleton has since played for NBL Division 1 clubs Hemel Storm and Thames Valley Cavaliers, who he has captained for the past 3 seasons. He has earned a reputation as high IQ guard and one of the best 3-point shooters in the National League.

“I’m really excited to join the MK Breakers organisation and play basketball at home in Milton Keynes. The club have built great foundations over the last few years, and I look forward to bringing my experience to help win championships and build something special here in MK,”

Commented Freckleton.

“When we decided to launch the men’s team, Blayne was one of our main targets. I’m ecstatic that he has decided to come on the journey with us and we hope he will remain with the club for many years to come. Blayne has a great competitive spirit and the ability to raise the level of the players around him.”

MK Breakers Head Coach Billy Beddow added “I was lucky enough to coach Blayne in my first year of coaching! To now have a player of his calibre return to his hometown and to have the opportunity to coach him again is brilliant. Most people know Blayne for his ability to shoot the ball, but we are also lucky to have his leadership and drive!”

Freckleton joins Jordan Spencer in the back court as the second signing for the 2022-23 season. We will be announcing more exciting player signings in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled! Your first opportunity to see the Senior Men’s team play will be September 24th when we host Loughborough Riders at Bletchley Leisure Centre, ticket information to be released shortly.
