September is the 5th anniversary of the start of Milton Keynes Basketball Club. The club now boasts 800 boys and girls from 4-18 years old, 5 basketball centres, its own Central Venue League, Junior National League and in conjunction with the 5 Dimensions Trust its own Sixth Form Basketball Academy. This season will see 12 Junior National League teams, two boy’s teams and one girl’s team at U12,14,16 and 18.

Another big development of the off-season is the addition of our men’s team, meaning for the first time in over a decade, we are very excited to announce we are bringing back Senior Men’s basketball to Milton Keynes.

To celebrate both the return of senior basketball to MK and our 5th anniversary, we are announcing today that the club will be changing its name to Milton Keynes Breakers Basketball Club (MK Breakers).

The new name pays homage to the world-famous Codebreakers, and with our home court at Bletchley Leisure Centre less than one mile from Bletchley Park, we felt this was a perfect choice to recognise and honour the very best of Milton Keynes.

Our new club logo, whilst retaining its circular shape, will reflect our new name and incorporate a “cog” component from the famous “bombe” machine, invented by Alan Turing.

Your first change to see our Senior Men’s team will be on 24th September, when they take on Loughborough Riders in a preseason game at Bletchley Leisure Centre, on September 24th, 4:30pm tip off. Ticket information will be released shortly.

Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting signing announcements for the Men’s team in the coming days!
