National Champions MK Breakers U14 Boys have been shortlisted for MK Inspiring Sports team of the Year at the MK Inspiration Awards 2025. The deadline to vote is 1st June.
Led by coaches Burak Haciismail and Danny Upton, the young squad were crowned National Champions on the 4th of May 2025, defeating the previously unbeaten London Stars 70-61 in the final in Manchester.
The team have been together since the 2022-23 season, winning every game for 3 seasons in a row! In 2022-23 the team completed an undefeated U12 campaign in the Basketball England National League with a 16-0 record.
Jumping up to U14’s for the 2023-24 season, the young Breakers squad again won every game, winning the East Conference of the National League with 20 wins and 0 losses. They then went on to earn promotion to the Premier Division for the following season.
Drawn in the U14 Northern Premier League for the 2024-25 season, the team faced the best opposition in the North of England, travelling as far as Newcastle for games. They again won every league game, finish 20-0, winning games by a staggering average of 86 points!
On to the Premier Playoffs, the boys defeated London Elite and MK Breakers II to reach the National Final Four. The semi-final saw the team face London Legends, who they defeated 78-65. Awaiting them in the final was London Stars, a club renowned for their success at the Junior Level. The final was a fantastic battle between two undefeated teams, with the Breaker boys coming out on top 70-61 in front of a packed crowd at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester.
The players, coaches and parents have shown unbelievable commitment over the past 3 season. Travelling up and down the country to represent the club, not to mention the countless hours of training put in to achieve their success. They deserve your vote!
