MK Breakers are delighted to announce the appointment of Russell Levenston as the club’s new Commercial Director.
In a move that brings one of the UK’s most respected basketball executives to Milton Keynes, the club continues its ambitious plan to continue to grow both on and off the court.
Levenston joins the Breakers with more than 25 years of experience in British basketball, having built an outstanding reputation for commercial development, strategic leadership and growing successful organisations at every level of the game.
His most recognised achievements came during his time with the Leicester Riders, where he became shareholder and Managing Director. Under his leadership, the Riders blossomed into one of the most successful and professionally run organisations in British basketball as Levenston delivered innovative commercial partnerships, brand development and community engagement,
As well as establishing the Riders as a benchmark for excellence and delivering a purpose-built basketball arena, he has also been instrumental in developing the sport nationally. Serving on the Board of Basketball England, representing clubs and helping shape the future direction of the sport, while holding leadership roles across the professional leagues and national basketball organisations, including being the driving force behind last year’s launch of British Championship Basketball.
As Commercial Director, Levenston will lead the MK Breakers’ commercial strategy, focusing on developing new partnerships, enhancing the club’s brand, increasing revenue opportunities and supporting the long-term sustainability of one of Britain’s fastest-growing basketball clubs.
The appointment reinforces MK Breakers’ commitment to building a sustainable, community-focused club with elite ambitions. Russell’s wealth of experience in commercial growth, governance and strategic development will play a key role in driving the club’s next phase of expansion as the Breakers continue to strengthen their position both on the court and within the Milton Keynes community.
Speaking on his appointment, Russell Levenston said: “Milton Keynes is part of where my basketball journey really began. I started as a volunteer, learned my trade here, and was given my first full-time opportunity in the game before moving on to Leicester. Those experiences have stayed with me throughout my career.

I’m looking forward to working with our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and partners as we take MK Breakers into an exciting new stage for the club and build a legacy that inspires future generations.”
