MK Breakers Head Coach Billy Beddow has selected five academy players to join the senior men’s roster for the 2022-23 season. Buai Luak, Eben Effah, Ethan Ratcliffe, Robertas Barkauskas and William Issekya, who are all members of the Breakers basketball academy based at Shenley Brook End School, will suit up for the men this season.

Luak 6’8”, Effah 6’9” and Ratcliffe 6’8” will bring plenty of size to the front court and Barkauskas and Issekya will add even more fire power the back court.

“To be able to offer this next part of our pathway at club and academy is brilliant. The games will start to test the academy players at the senior level, but more importantly the opportunity to practice with and against the senior guys we have on the team all week is where a lot of growth will take place. The senior guys have such high levels of playing experience and can show our academy players what’s required at the levels they aspire to reach.”

added Beddow.

“We’re really pleased to offer the opportunity to five junior players from the club the opportunity to play senior basketball in Milton Keynes. Previously this was something players would have move away for, now they are able to do it right here in their home city. We believe in these guys, and they are ready to deliver for the team at this level. I hope this shows younger players in the club that there is a pathway for them.”

General Manager Josh Merrington added
