Milton Keynes Breakers are delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Stanley as the new Head Coach of the Men’s team as we prepare for the inaugural British Championship Basketball season.

Stanley brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached Nottingham Hoods before moving to Solent Kestrels in 2022. Named NBL Women’s Coach of the Year for leading the Kestrels to League title and Playoff Final victory, Leicester Riders then came calling.

The Coach spent time at the helm of both the Riders Women’s Super League team and the Loughborough Riders, and he now can’t wait to get started at Breakers as the 2025/26 campaign approaches.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Milton Keynes,” Ben Stanley said. “The club has done so much in a short space of time, not only at the Men’s but also at the Junior and Academy levels and the Women’s team. Everything around the club just feels poised to take that next step.

“Josh Merrington and Peter Taylor have been incredibly welcoming and I’m positive that we can push the club even further than it has already gone. I’m just really enthusiastic to get down there, meet the coaches, staff, and of course the players to start building for this season.”

Ben will also take up a role at our basketball Academy within the 5D Trust, and his enthusiasm was echoed by MK Breakers General Manager Josh Merrington. “We’re really happy to have Ben join the club as the Men’s Head Coach,” he said.

“He’s a coach who has delivered at every level, and we believe he is the man to help take our team forward. We’re excited to start working with him as we look to build a successful future.”

Everyone at Breakers extends a warm welcome to Ben and wishes him every success as our new Head Coach.

Breakers fans can expect to hear some signing news very soon as Ben begins to shape the roster for the 2025-26 season.
