Funding from Sport England & The National Lottery across 2025 has allowed us to extend our offer of Basketball for All to an extra 60 Girls in the City who would otherwise not have had the financial means to access sessions. We also received similar funding in 2024 and the impact across the club is unmistakeable.
Highlights from the Women & Girls programme across 2025 include but is not limited to:
- U14 Girls National Champions after finishing runners-up in 2024
- U16 Girls 4th Place Nationally in 2025
- Senior Women’s Team winning Division 2 in their first year of existence
- The creation of an U18 Girl’s Team for the 2025-26 season meaning we now have a complete player pathway from U12 – Senior Women’s Team
- 10 Girls Selected for Regional teams
- 7 Girls Selected for England teams
- 2 Girls Selected for Great Britain teams
Being able to deliver grassroots programmes to Girl’s that might not otherwise be accessing any sport at all is massively important to the MK Breakers, and having the Girls in our pathway setting such a great example nationally only serves to raise the aspirations of everyone involved.
