Box Score: MK Breakers 99-86 Nottingham Hoods
Milton Keynes Breakers made it three league wins in a row with a commanding 99-86 victory over Nottingham Hoods, climbing to fourth in the NBL Division One table.
Led by a dominant performance from Adrian Scarborough, who racked up 28 points and 16 rebounds, the Breakers controlled the game from start to finish in front of their home crowd. KJ Johnson once again hit over 20 points as he scored 23 points and picked up 10 assists, elsewhere Nate Robinson and Chris Tawiah both scored 14 points.
The game started with both teams trading baskets in a closely contested first quarter, but the Breakers began to assert themselves in the second period. With Scarborough dominating inside and KJ Johnson orchestrating the offence helping the Breakers take a 54-45 lead into the break.
Nottingham Hoods continued to push the Breakers as they looked to stay in the game, but they struggled to contain the Breakers’ high-energy attack. The third quarter saw Milton Keynes extend their lead further, outscoring their opponents 23-19 – a 10-minute period that really cemented the win for the Breakers.
Billy Beddow will no double be pleased with his side’s dominance at the glass, as they outrebounded Nottingham 51-27, leading to 16 second-chance points that proved crucial in securing the win.
The Breakers are next in action next Sunday they travel to Reading Rockets in a hotly anticipated matchup between second and fourth in the table – a match that is also a prequel to the upcoming KitKing Trophy Final.
