MK Breakers will start the New Year with a trip to the Capital as they face London Cavaliers this Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 6:30pm.
The Breakers closed out 2024 in good form winning three consecutive NBL 1 games as they overcame Derby Trailblazers, City of Birmingham Rockets and Worthing Thunder respectively. That run of good form has seen the Breakers climb to seventh in the table having won five of their opening nine games this season.
KJ Johnson has been key to the Breakers, he sits fourth in the average points in the division with an impressive 19.2 per game. He also paces inside the top 10 for average assists with 5.8 per game, with Adrian Scarborough also making an impression as he places second for rebounds and eighth for efficiency.
London Cavaliers, meanwhile, sit eighth in the table, only behind MK Breakers on points difference. Their key man in terms of points so far this season has been Ed Lucas who is averaging 17.1 points per game, the Breakers can’t ignore Justin Robinson, however, he’s sinking 39.7% from beyond the arc and an almost flawless 92.5% from the free throw line.
The Cavaliers suffered a narrow OT Defeat to Loughborough Riders last time out and will be determined to get back to winning ways in front of their own fans at Uxbridge College this weekend. The Breakers, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain their impressive run of form and continue their climb up the table.
