Milton Keynes Breakers will be looking to make it 23 games without defeat as they host Cardiff Met Archers this Saturday at Bletchley Leisure Centre.
The Breakers unbeaten run stretches back to early October when they narrowly suffered defeat to Team Solent Kestrels – who currently sit top of NBL Division 2. Breakers, meanwhile, currently sit four points off top of the table with just the one defeat to their name.
Saturday’s opponents have enjoyed a successful season themselves, they sit fourth in the table having won 10 of their 17 games this season and narrowly suffered an overtime defeat against Cobham Scorchers in their last league fixture.
The two sides have already met once this season as Breakers made the trip to the Welsh capital back in November. The Breakers would run out 115-82 winners that evening with Mike New Jr (22), Chris Tawiah (21), and Jordan Spencer (20) leading the scoring charts for the Breakers.
The Breakers were depleted last weekend, but managed to overcome NASSA 94-72 with Nate Robinson leading the charts with 25 points. Robinson has been a welcomed addition to the Breakers since joining in December and has already had a number of standout moments in a Breakers jersey.
Dan Flaherty will be a man the Breakers will have to keep quiet if they are to extend their winning run. The Cardiff Archers man has an average of 23.1 points so far this campaign – with an efficiency score of 342. The Archers are also shooting well from beyond the arc with three players in the top 10 for three point percentage in the division – James Dawe, Oliver Wright and Pete Walker the trio achieving the feat.
Jordan Spencer leads NBL Division 2 for efficiency with an impressive 459.0 – a staggering 72 ahead of second place. Spencer also leads the division for average assists with 11.6 so far this campaign.
We’d love to welcome you to Bletchley Leisure Centre this Saturday as the two sides go head-to-head – tickets can be purchased HERE.
